About

Friends of Lady Barn CommitteeThe Friends of Lady Barn (FOLB) is at the heart of our school community. More than a traditional PTA, FOLB brings together parents, staff, and friends of the school to support events, fundraising, and community-building in a way that is flexible, inclusive, and sustainable.

Our New Structure

Following our AGM in June 2025, we evolved the Committee to better reflect the needs of today’s Lady Barn community. The Committee is now overseen by:

  • Ms Higson – Head
  • Mrs Lachevre – Head of Marketing, Admissions & Communications
  • Mrs Lunn – Marketing & Fundraising Manager

The Committee also includes:

  • Parent Representatives for each year group (mothers and fathers, ideally one per form)
  • A Treasurer, supported by the school’s Assistant Bursar
  • A Pre-Loved Uniform Coordinator, supported by our MAC Officer
  • A School Office Link, to ensure strong communication across the community

The Role of Parent Representatives

Our Parent Reps play a vital role in:

  • Sharing updates via year group WhatsApp groups
  • Encouraging event attendance and volunteering
  • Welcoming new families
  • Communicating key dates and school news
  • Meeting occasionally with school leadership to share feedback

Events and Fundraising

The Friends of Lady Barn Committee helps deliver a calendar of much-loved events including our Christmas Fair, Easter Bingo & Curry Night, and Family Fun Day. Each event has a designated parent Key Contact to help with planning and volunteers – spreading responsibility across the community.

FOLB also plays a vital role in our wider Giving at Lady Barn strategy, which brings together:

  • The Beyond Learning Bursary Fund
  • The School Charity Council
  • The Friends of Lady Barn fundraising and volunteering

Why It Matters

The Friends of Lady Barn is more than a committee – it is a network of parents and families helping to create memorable experiences, raise vital funds, and strengthen the community spirit that makes our school unique.
