On Friday 12 September, Lady Barn House School celebrated an extraordinary milestone: Hilary Thomas’s 50 years of dedicated service to the school.
Hilary has been part of the Lady Barn story for five decades, touching the lives of countless pupils and families. To mark the occasion, staff, governors, and many former colleagues gathered in Scott House for a special afternoon tea. Guests enjoyed speeches from Louise and Julie Brookes-Ward, a poem from Emma, and the presentation of flowers and a memory book filled with heartfelt messages collected from across the Lady Barn community.
It was a truly joyful occasion, with laughter, reminiscence, and a wonderful sense of togetherness. So many alumni staff returned to share in the celebration, a reflection of the enduring friendships and connections forged at Lady Barn.
Hilary’s commitment, warmth, and service over half a century are an inspiration to us all, and we were delighted to celebrate this remarkable achievement with her.
